“Safety has always been the main priority of Qazaq Air from the very first day that my team and I started the airline in 2015. We are therefore delighted to have successfully passed the IATA operational safety audit and to have international recognition of our efforts in this area,” said Qazaq Air’s founding CEO, Blair Treherne Pollock. “Obtaining our IOSA Certificate will create new opportunities for us and will allow Qazaq Air to carry out regular international flights”.
IOSA has helped at least 420 airlines in the world to improve their operational safety. Compliance with IOSA standards has become in practice an important requirement for international carriers to conclude interline agreements. After Air Astana and SCAT Airlines, now a third carrier from Kazakhstan has received IOSA Certificate, Qazaq Air. “Over 95% of air travellers from the country will be served by IOSA audited carriers and this is a clear evidence of the high safety level in civil aviation of Republic of Kazakhstan in whole,” said IATA Area Manager for Central Asia, Jordan Karamalakov.
