According to data compiled by easyJet Holidays, Malta has topped a list of alternative holiday destinations for British holidaymakers.
Nestled in the Mediterranean, roughly halfway between the coast of North Africa and Italy, Malta boasts a rich cultural tapestry. Over a century and a half of British rule has left a lasting influence, making the island a unique blend of cultures with a distinctly British touch.
Other destinations gaining popularity among British travellers include the Italian Island of Sardinia and the Spanish city Seville. Sardinia, with beautiful sandy beaches that rival the popular Amalfi Coast, along with its rugged interior hiking trails, is perfect for the adventurous types.

Seville, on the other hand, is a nice alternative for those looking to explore on of the most vibrant cities of Spain. It's warm climate and stunning Moorish architecture offer a rich mix of tradition and vibrancy.
The data collected by easyJet Holidays also reveals that 73% of British holidaymakers have been influenced by AI when considering alternative holiday destinations. However, common obstacles to finalising a destination include a lack of information, cost, and fear of the unknown, concerns cited by 26% of those surveyed.
