Chinese Students to Join Croatia Airlines’ Engineer Courses
The success of the Brookfield Education and Training / Croatia Airlines EASA Engineer B1 course has attracted a growing number of international students for the second year intake scheduled for October 2016 and now the course is actively being marketed in China where an increasing number of affluent families are seeking rewarding educational opportunities in Europe for their children.
The new initiative is being promoted by the Brookfield team in China. Siya Sun, Brookfield’s V.P. Asia Pacific said: “This is a unique opportunity for young Chinese people to get their Bachelor of Engineering degree, the B1 licence and three and a half years’ work experience, all of which are considered essential in China. The fact that the licence is EASA with A-320 type rating and hence recognised around the world is of particular interest. We are working with our partners in China, Boarding Education who have long standing expertise in the Chinese foreign student placement area and we look forward to welcoming the first Chinese students to Zagreb in a few months time”
News of the project prompted a visit to Brookfield headquarters in Epsom by the celebrated Chinese journalist Emma Zhong who writes for the Chinese Business Gazette.
Emma interviewed Brookfield CEO, David George about the origins of the business and present and future projects. He commented on the Croatia Airlines course and in particular what good value it was for students of all ages, nationalities and backgrounds who want to embark on a career in jet aircraft maintenance: “There is nothing to compare to this for quality and value anywhere in Europe” he said, “ the cost is no more than for a degree course in the UK or western Europe, but with this you get a Bachelor of Aerospace Engineering degree from University of Applied Sciences, Velika Gorica, all the practical training, work experience and modules for B1 licence plus A-320 included in the price. Accommodation is very reasonably priced too. It’s no wonder it is proving so popular in many countries and we are expecting a substantial take-up in China”.
Brookfield have appointed a local representative in Zagreb who will be available to help the 2016 student intake with their accommodation and any issues they may have on arrival in Croatia. “Everything possible will be done to make these young people feel at home as soon as they arrive, so they will be comfortable and ready for the challenge ahead” said David George, ”but it’s not so difficult because Zagreb is a wonderful city for learning”.
