Personal Data

Collection of your Personal Data

Brookfield is a professional aviation recruitment and crew leasing company placing candidates into permanent and contract positions, as well as providing other aviation-related services. Brookfield generally collects personal data directly from you. For example, it collects personal data when you apply for positions via our website, deal with us in person, by telephone, letter or email, if you send us a CV or respond to our job alert messages. Personal data about you may also be collected from third parties that Brookfield contacts for verification or reference purposes. Brookfield may also collect your personal data on behalf of our affiliated companies in connection with the provision of services to or for you.

 

Purposes for which your Personal Data may be collected.

To match your details against job vacancies which Brookfield considers may be appropriate for you; To provide information and job alerts regarding opportunities and industry updates; To check your qualifications and experience; To apply for jobs on your behalf for which you have given us prior consent; Where we have a legal duty to disclose information; To process your registration and/or application; To provide relevant details to our clients for roles for which you have applied or, with your prior permission, to clients seeking personnel for similar roles who may be interested in your skills; To allow you to apply for specific jobs or to subscribe to Brookfield's job alerts so that Brookfield can notify you when relevant job vacancies arise; To deliver relevant advertising and our newsletter to you; For any other purposes for which you have engaged with Brookfield.

Brookfield may disclose your personal data to third parties if they have a proper interest in the disclosure, such as Brookfield’s affiliated companies, and airlines or other companies interested in engaging your services, subject to your agreement.

Why we process your personal data and our legal justification for doing so:

Our legal basis for the processing of personal data is our legitimate business interests, described in more detail below, although we will also rely on contract, legal obligation and consent for specific uses of data. 

We will rely on contract if we are negotiating or have entered into a placement agreement with you or your organisation or any other contract to provide services to you or receive services from you or your organisation. 

We will rely on legal obligation if we are legally required to hold information on to you to fulfil our legal obligations. 

We will in some circumstances rely on consent for particular uses of your data and you will be asked for your express consent if legally required.  Examples of when consent may be the lawful basis for processing include permission to introduce you to a client (if you are a candidate).


Our legitimate interests (carrying on the commercial activity of the provision of our services):
In providing our services, we will carry out some processing of personal data which is necessary for the purpose of our legitimate interests, which include:

    • establishing compliance with contractual obligations with Clients or suppliers

    • addressing any query or dispute that may arise including establishing, exercising or defending any legal claims

This means that for our commercial viability and to pursue these legitimate interests, we may continue to process your personal data for as long as we consider necessary for these purposes.

Consent to our processing of your data:
We may process your personal data on the basis that you have consented to us doing so for a specific purpose, for example, if you apply for a specific role you may have consented to our processing of the data that has been provided for the purpose of progressing your application and considering your suitability for that role. In other cases, you may have provided your written or verbal consent to the use of your data for a specific reason.

However, please note that we may continue to retain, or otherwise use your personal information thereafter where we have a legitimate interest or a legal or contractual obligation to do so. Transfer of Personal Data outside of EU.

Brookfield has clients worldwide and as a result, personal data may be transferred outside the country where we are located.  This includes to countries outside the European Union ("EU") and to countries that do not have laws that provide the same level of protection for personal data.  Transfer of data will occur where it is necessary as part of the services Brookfield provides to or for you. By providing your personal data to Brookfield you agree that your personal data may be transferred outside of the EU in such circumstances.

We will hold your personal information in a secure environment and we will take all reasonable steps to protect the personal information you provide us from misuse, loss, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.
